Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 August 2026

By using Route AI ("the service") at route-ai.app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What the service is

Route AI turns free-text trip descriptions into editable cycling, hiking and running routes, and exports them as GPX files. It is provided free of charge, as is, as a hobby project — with care, but without any guarantee of availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose.

Routes are suggestions — ride at your own risk

Routes are generated automatically from public map data and AI suggestions. They may include roads that are closed, private, unsafe, unlawful to ride, or simply unpleasant. Distances, elevation and time estimates are approximate.

You are solely responsible for checking that a route is legal, safe and within your ability before and while following it. Obey local traffic law and signage over anything a GPX file says. Never follow a navigation prompt into a situation that looks unsafe.

Fair use

Your content

Trips you save remain yours. By creating a share link you make that trip snapshot publicly readable by anyone who has the link. You can delete saved trips and share links at any time.

Accounts

Sign-in is via Google and optional. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time via the in-app feedback form.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from use of the service or from following any route it produces — including but not limited to injury, loss, damage to equipment, or getting rained on halfway up a hill you didn't ask for.

Map data and attribution

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Routing by BRouter. Cycle-network overlay by Waymarked Trails (CC-BY-SA). Exported GPX files contain OpenStreetMap-derived data and inherit its attribution requirements.

Changes

These terms may change; the date above will be updated when they do. Continued use after a change means acceptance. The current version always lives at this address.
